Siding in Grade

Termites can enter any wood structure - especially when the base of siding or trim is installed directly in grade or masonry. The dark areas of the siding at grade shown here are wood areas which have been covered in metal (which is only partial and limited protection from termites) The interior of this basement entrance has extensive termite damage and activity - despite the newer siding and "protective" metal on the low siding.
